Spay/Neuter Surgery Totals Rise in 2003!

Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI) helps over 3,000 Central Indiana pets receive spay/neuter surgeries in 2003. This total almost doubles the number of 2002 surgeries.

"Our February and October pet overpopulation campaigns last year were very successful," said Verna Boggs, Treasurer. "Those two campaigns help provide many unwanted pregnancies through sterilization. Last year's totals were also boosted by newly formed alliances with other local animal organizations committed to ending pet overpopulation. We hope to continue the upward trend in 2004."

SNSI provides lower-income pet owners financial assistance for spay/neuter surgeries. During the February and October campaigns, all pet owners are eligible to receive assistance. SNSI relies on an annual nut sale fundraiser, contributions from private parties, and service donations from veterinarians to help carry out the surgeries.

Help is still greatly needed for the 2004 year in the area of donations and volunteers.
