SNSI Celebrates its 30,000 Surgery!

Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana (SNSI) is proud to announce that they have recently hit a landmark number. To date, 30,000 cats and dogs have been sterilized with the help of one of their low-cost spay/neuter programs. SNSI first began their efforts to end pet overpopulation in 1977.

"We are excited that our organization has helped make a difference in the lives of so many animals," said Verna Boggs, Treasurer. "Each surgery saves thousands of future animals from the possibility of homelessness, abuse, and euthanasia. There is a serious pet overpopulation problem in our state and many animals are dying needlessly each day. The only way to get a grip on things is through sterilization and that is what SNSI has been working for since 1977."

With the help of donations and fundraisers, SNSI offers several different programs for pet owners. Below is brief description of each; please check out the Web site at www.spayneuterservices.org or call 317.788.6330 for more detailed information.

  • The SNAP Program offers surgeries based on income and size of household.
  • The Urban Program offers surgeries to multi-pet homes.
  • The February Program is open to all pet owners regardless of income or number of pets. But, it is only available for the month of February.

To help celebrate this milestone, SNSI has designated "Charlie" as the official 30,000th surgery dog! His picture can be downloaded for print at the SNSI Web site, www.spayneuterservices.org/pr021703.htm.

Founded in 1977, Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana, Inc. is dedicated to help end pet overpopulation in Indiana by providing affordable options to spay-neuter surgeries. Centrally located in Indianapolis, SNSI consists of volunteers who work on behalf of the many unwanted and neglected animals in this state.
