Care & Control Division (ACCD) works in partnership with the community

the community. ACCD encourages the adoption of pets, enforces ordinances
and laws regarding animal - related issues and conducts inspections
for the licensing of facilities that sell, groom and kennel animals.

to exchange information; working with Indy Parks and Recreation
to develop and promote Canine Companion Zones (CCZ) within the Indianapolis

IndyFeral
Inc. - IndyFeral Inc. was established
as a means of changing the way stray and feral (wild) cats have
been traditionally viewed and dealt with in our community; by establishing
the non-lethal method of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).
Indy Pit Crew Established in the Fall of 2005, Indy Pit Crew has been working tirelessly to raise public awareness about the plight of the pit bull.

KJ's Strays

- Works through pro-active rescue, adoption efforts and an affordable
spay/neuter program to eliminate the use of euthanasia as a method

Animal Shelter - A no-kill shelter with
animals available for adoption; animals are rescued from Animal
Control centers throughout the state.
Tails A 'Waggin'
Rescue - A 501 (c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter for
abandoned, homeless, and abused animals dedicated to placing them
in new loving homes and/or providing a safe haven for them until
a new home can be found.
Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound Program
- Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound, is a walking program for our four legged friends as well as the two legged members of our community. Walk a Hound, Lose a Pound, has been developed to address two major community challenges: The growing rate of obesity in Indianapolis and The excessive number of unwanted animals. Through this program, friendly, adoptable dogs from IACC will be available to the public for exercise walks.
